Things Learned From Listening To The Tony Robbins-Frank Kern-John Reese Video

RobbinsKernReeseWhen Tony Robbins recently circulated a video on the internet -  Tony Robbins-with-Frank Kern-and-John Reese-video - I watched it with great interest. I have been a fan of his ever since attending Life Mastery in the mid-nineties. Regardless of how many times I listen to his stuff, it always remains fresh. There is always something "new" - either I didn't hear it the last time around, or had forgotten. This time the learning was quite different - it was not about the content, but about the delivery. I write about it because it is a great reminder of the "don't change a winning team" success strategy.
.

Lesson 1: If It Works, Don't Change It!

QuotesHankAaronOn Tony's video I noticed that his message on the 4-square system for creating massive action is exactly the same as it was 15 years ago. Translation: when you have a hit, play it over, and over, and over, and over again. But for goodness' sake, don't give in to the temptation to "improve" it! Get busy with your next hit instead. Or take a vacation. In the meantime play your hit again, and again, and again. Audiences do not tire of hits - whether it's the favorite band playing their greatest hits, or your home team hitting another home run.
.
Lesson 2: Never Mind How Old, Act As If It Were Brand New
.
The level of enthusiasm you experienced initially, when the hit was born, remains the benchmark for the future. Because you have seen it before or have heard it a hundred times before, doesn't mean a thing. Never ever let go of the enthusiasm and passion of the beginning. Whenever you deliver, perform or present your hit again, do it with all the passion you felt the first time. You wouldn't go to the ocean and enjoy the experience less under pretense that you have seen the ocean before, would you? In his video, Tony presents his 'old' idea with a 'new' passion that's even greater than 15 years ago. When Tony pleads with the world, to "live with passion," he's obviously listens and hears himself.
